To enhance emergency response capabilities for sudden production safety incidents, the company recently organized its annual comprehensive emergency drill. The drill simulated an explosion accident caused by an overheated reaction kettle, covering the entire process from early warning and response to evacuation, escape, and medical rescue. Over 30 participants, including the emergency command center and five specialized teams, were involved.
During the drill, after the DCS control room operators detected abnormalities, the workshop simultaneously initiated procedures for abnormal condition handling, personnel evacuation, and hierarchical reporting. The commander promptly activated the emergency plan and directed the five emergency teams on-site. The rescue team quickly shut off valves, cut power, and relocated hazardous chemicals. The security team used fire broadcast systems to guide all personnel to safe zones while simulating casualty rescue operations. The firefighting team successfully extinguished the flames while wearing proper protective gear, and the inspection team completed an environmental safety assessment. The emergency response was terminated only after the leaked hazardous chemicals were properly handled.
The entire drill proceeded in a tense yet orderly manner, with the emergency teams demonstrating swift reactions, clear division of labor, appropriate measures, and effective handling. They strictly adhered to the fundamental requirements of “following commands, coordinating operations, and working closely together,” achieving the intended objectives.
Following the drill, the team conducted a thorough review, analysis, and refinement of the exercise. By improving the emergency drill system and reinforcing employee safety skills through realistic scenarios, the company effectively enhanced staff capabilities in emergency response, decision-making, and risk avoidance, thereby building a solid foundation for production safety.
